This Summer Solstice Calendaring Zine is volume III of IV and is a co-creation by Sara Sadek and Lesley Numbers.

In this moment of uncertainty & upheavel, as we all hold our collective breaths, the sun still stretches high and long across the sky as the seeds we sowed in spring begin to bloom. They bloom not in isolation, but in the tangled, messy, miraculous webs of connection that sustain all life. 

Blooming into Interdependence is the summer season of our living zine, where we invite contributors, readers, and co-dreamers to explore the fertile ground of shared flourishing.As we bear witness to violence on the world stage, we know now, more than ever, is our time to weave together the interdependent world we all so desperately need. 

By interdependence, we mean the deep knowing in our bones that we are not separate: from ourselves, from each other, from this earth. That my own flourishing is bound to yours. That we only survive this moment together. 

This late-stage capitalist era is a blip in time that is an anomaly to how we are meant to co-exist, a made-up construct we get to unravel and reshape toward better alignment with our interconnections. Together, we get to bloom into ecosystems of mutual care. Right now, we need that for our collective survival. 

This season asks us to flourish into reciprocal creativity, collective tending, and the unabashed truth that nothing blooms alone. We need to show up for each other, unapologetically. 

As always, we’ll donate 10% of profits to MECA: Middle Eastern Children’s Alliance, for their continued emergency relief work in Gaza.
